SALT SENIOR RESIDENTIAL SECURITY KIT
The distribution company that provides the flashing light bulbs has gone out of business, and there is no other source available at this time. Consequently, we do now have bulbs available until a new distributor decides to carry the bulbs. This is the 3rd time in 12 years that we have encountered this problem, so we are confident bulbs will become available in the future. We will continue to look for a source and will offer them again as soon as we find a viable option. We will continue to provide the other two parts of the security kit: the address sign and peep hole.
The kit now includes a highly reflective full size address sign mounted on metal post and a through- the-door viewer that allows residents to see who is outside the door before opening it.
The cost of the modified kit is $13.00. For Seniors who qualify for assistance under Federal Guidelines, there is no charge. Those who can afford to pay in full for the components will be asked to do so. Those in between will pay what they can afford. There will be no significant financial qualification process, only an expression from the Senior of qualifying under federal poverty guidelines. Each component will be priced separately so those who don’t require the complete kit can still get the necessary elements they lack. The modified kit is available now. Call the SALT Council Event & Program Message Center at 985-809-5455 to make arrangements to receive a kit .
